COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The CRC 40 hour Basic Crisis Negotiation Course is an introduction to law enforcement communications techniques with persons in crisis.  The class teaches students to "Communicate," "Assess," and "Develop Strategy" in response to crisis barricade situations.  The course reinforces classroom instruction through practical exercises which focus on these crisis communications skills.  A capstone Crisis Negotiation Team practical exercise challenges students on the final day of the course.  The instruction is certified to be in compliance with training standards established by the National Council of Negotiation Associations (NCNA).

This introductory training is designed to prepare the following individuals, proposed for service in law enforcement crisis negotiation response team:

• Law Enforcement / Corrections Professionals - Team Members or Supervisors
• Mental Health Professionals
• Intelligence Analysts
• Support Personnel
